Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) in Miami, FL
Are you concerned about the appearance of your eyelids and the skin around your eyes?
As we age, our skin loosens, causing many changes in our appearance that we don’t necessarily want, such as sagging skin and the formation of deep lines and wrinkles. These changes are most apparent in the face. And, since the eyes are considered the windows to our souls, anything that takes away from the vitality of our eyes can cause frustration.
However, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that can tighten the skin around the eyes, getting rid of hooded upper eyelids, under-eye bags, and unwanted wrinkles while balancing the eyes’ symmetry and bringing a more youthful look to the upper portion of your face.
After blepharoplasty surgery, you will look as vibrant as you feel.Book Consultation
Am I a Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
If you are frustrated with the appearance of your eyes, whether because you have drooping eyelids, sagging skin, “skin bags,” asymmetry, or wrinkles (at the corners of eyes), then blepharoplasty is the procedure you’ve been searching for.
There is no age restriction for patients who can have eyelid surgery; however, candidates should be non-smoking individuals, in good general health, and realistic regarding their results.

Eyelid Surgery Benefits
Look Younger | Smooth Skin | More Confidence
How Is Eyelid Surgery Performed?
First, you will need to schedule a consultation at Plus Cosmetic Surgery Center. There, you and one of our quality cosmetic surgeons will discuss your frustrations and goals for your eyelids.
Your surgeon will examine the skin around your eyes, test tear production, and take several measurements. You will also undergo a vision test.
For the actual surgery, you will be given localized numbing medication in your eyelid and intravenous medication so that you will not feel any pain during the procedure. Light general anesthesia is sometimes used, especially if you are combining your eyelid surgery with any other procedure(s).
Depending on the type of blepharoplasty performed, your surgeon will then make incisions in your upper or lower eyelid. Excess skin will be removed, intraorbital fat will be redistributed, and your muscles will be tightened. If your upper lid droops over your pupil, your surgeon may perform ptosis surgery, which helps support your eyebrow muscle and helps fix asymmetry. The incisions are closed, and you can begin your recovery.
At Plus Cosmetic Surgery Center, we are proud to offer these various types of eyelid surgery:
- Upper blepharoplasty, where excess tissues, skin, and fat is removed and redistributed from the upper lid
- Lower blepharoplasty, where deep nasolacrimal fissures (lines and wrinkles around the lower, inner portion of the eyelid) are remedied, which gets rid of sagging skin and “eye bags”
- Circular blepharoplasty, where both the upper and lower eyelid is corrected, which creates the most noticeable result
Eyelid surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure and usually takes about two hours to complete.
What Procedures Can Be Combined With My Blepharoplasty?
What Is Blepharoplasty Recovery Like?
After your blepharoplasty procedure, it is normal to have some side effects, such as:
- Puffiness and swelling
- Blurred vision
- Watery eyes
- Sensitivity to light
These side effects should dissipate within a week or two, and medication can be taken to alleviate any pain that you may feel after your surgery.
Eyelid surgery recovery usually takes about two weeks. During this time, you can use ice packs to help with the swelling. Make sure to refrain from rubbing or irritating your eyes during this recovery period.
What Results Can I Expect From the Procedure?
Your blepharoplasty results will be both physical and psychological. The skin around your eyes will be smooth, making you look years younger, and you’ll have more confidence in yourself and the way you look. You’ll be able to laugh and smile with friends, knowing that you look as full of life as you feel!
