Chin Implants in Miami, FL
Are you unhappy with the look of your chin?
Our faces are the most visible and public part of our bodies. If a part of your face concerns or embarrasses you, that can seriously affect your confidence and self-esteem. For many men and women, their chin is the facial feature that frustrates them the most.
For some, a small or recessed chin can make it look as if they don’t even have a chin, while others may suffer from a “double chin” due to the lack of a defined chin bone, which causes the extra skin and fat in the area to sag.
While you can do exercises to strengthen your neck muscles, there is no way to improve the aesthetic of your chin without implants. A chin implant can give you the chin shape and projection that you want, which will bring your chin into a more normal proportion to the rest of your face.Book Consultation
Am I a Candidate for a Chin Implant?
If you are frustrated with the “weakness” of your chin (whether it be a recessed chin that barely shows, the presence of a “double chin,” or general unhappiness with the harmony of your face because of your chin size), then a chin implant may be the solution for you.
Candidates should be non-smoking individuals in good general health who have realistic expectations for their results.
During your consultation, your cosmetic surgeon will conduct an in-depth evaluation to determine your candidacy. This is a valuable opportunity to develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs.

How Is Chin Implant Surgery Performed?
Chin implant surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, using either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.
At your consultation, you and your surgeon will decide the size and shape of the implant that is right for you. The implant itself is made of a synthetic (alloplastic) material, which includes silicone. This material resembles the look and feel of natural bone, so no one will know you had an implant placed.
During the actual procedure, your cosmetic surgeon will make an incision either beneath your chin or inside your mouth. Your surgeon will then create space for your implant, which will fit around your chin bone, and the implant will be placed in its correct position. Once this is complete, your incision will be closed, and you’ll be ready to begin your recovery.
It generally takes less than one hour for chin implant surgery to be completed.
What Procedures Can Be Combined With My Chin Implant Surgery?
Many patients choose to combine their chin implant surgery with other facial procedures. Doing so will provide even more dynamic results and cut down on the total cost of the various surgeries as well as the total recovery time. Some of the procedures often combined with chin implant surgery include:
What Is Chin Implant Surgery Recovery Like?
In relation to many other cosmetic procedures, chin implant recovery is relatively short. After the procedure, you will have some swelling and bruising, though these should dissipate over the following week or two. Any pain you may experience can be mitigated with medication and cold compresses placed on your chin. You will likely be able to return to work after one week. However, you should keep your head elevated and make sure not to sleep or put any pressure on your chin for two weeks. You should be able to return to more strenuous activities and exercise after three to four weeks.
Your surgeon will monitor you closely in the weeks following your surgery. Patients need to follow all post-operative instructions to ensure a safe, comfortable, and successful recovery.
What Results Can I Expect From the Procedure?
Your final results may take up to three months to be fully evident. You will have a more aesthetically balanced face with a chin that better fits the proportions of the rest of your facial features. An improved neck and jawline should also result from your implant, and most importantly, you will have a better sense of confidence in the way you look.
